I intend to feature this recipe on EFSEP. At which time I will calculate a PRAL serving score from the PRAL index for each ingredient. So to get an email notification from that website, please subscribe:
I chose to illustrate the PRAL liquor and cocktails list with a Bloody Mary. Because it is the most alkaline in the USDA category. But those lists don’t represent the real world of alkaline cocktail making.
In reality, we can add as many fruit and vegetable ingredients to a cocktail as we want. So I’ve seen some photographs that show a fruit salad or vegetable snack in a glass. With a dash of liquor for added flavor! The point is, you can make your cocktails as alkaline as you want them to be. But heed the warnings about excess alcohol. Otherwise, you risk your PRAL estimates being meaningless.
