Acid-Alkaline Other Diet Drinks PRAL List

I’ve included the USDA other diet drinks category as an example of the need to look beyond PRAL calculations. Because alkaline diets need to be based on wholesome real foods and drinks. Not some fake drinks manufactured in a factory.

Remember, PRAL is an estimate derived from assessing the acid load from digesting real food. So over-processing and added chemicals destroy the fundamental calculation. Therefore, drinks on this list are best avoided. Although, as near-neutral drinks, they are unlikely to affect PRAL alkalinity scores in any meaningful way.

Before you use this PRAL Other Diet Drinks List, you must understand and agree to PRAL Food Lists Principles

Acid-Alkaline Other Diet Drinks List

I list diet drinks with the lowest PRAL index first. Because these have the lowest acid load. So the most alkalizing drinks show first. But you can click the food table headings to change sort order.

For the other diet drinks category, the average PRAL values are zero per 100 grams. As these are low-calorie drinks, I do not include a PRAL per 100 calories column. To put this in context, compare with other nonalcoholic beverages in the Food Category List.

Remember, factors such as food factory conditions, choice of additives, and preparation methods affect all fake food nutrients. USDA database values are an average of many samples. So your PRAL values for diet drinks will vary from day to day. But they are always an estimate of actual acid load on your kidneys. Which I explain more in the notes about PRAL principles on the category list page.
